First of all, when I got into this, I expected to post only once every couple months, with Jynxie posting the user reviews. When she died unexpectedly, suddenly the whole thing fell into my lap. The other guy who had been posting disappeared, and suddenly I'm de-facto in charge. On top of it a close family member went from really bad to worse, and needed round the clock treatment, which as an only child fell often on me. I don't know about you guys, but it's sort of hard to make your heroin stamp blog a priority when you're watching the person who raised you fight death.
Anyway, eventually things calmed down (Or more so I came to accept things), and I set off to try to make this thing work, which is where I ran into a major roadblock. If you don't know, the way blogger works is there is an "administrator" (Jynxie) for the blog, who can invite various "authors" (Me). Authors can write posts, and edit those posts and control the comment section on their posts, but that is the full extent of what they can do. They can't edit the look of the page or graphics, invite other authors, or moderate comments on other authors posts, delete or edit authors posts, etc. Now Jynxie, not knowing she was going to die horrifically, never gave me her password, and when I contacted Blogger, they told me in order to get it I have to produce a death certificate, her ID, my ID, how I'm related, and a host of others things there's no way I can get nor care to try to get/give, considering the nature of this blog. So obviously this leaves me in a bit of a pickle.
So here are the options:
1. Stay on this blog. Hope people don't email Jynxies old email in the graphics, and run the entire thing by myself.
2. Start a new blog with a similar name (a large post on this site will link you to it). Be able to put up the same graphics but with my email, be able to invite new authors responsible for different regions (ie I'll cover Brooklyn, someone from CT, Manhattan, the Bronx, etc). Maybe make a new email all authors have access to & can post reviews from their section. Have an overall better run blog.
Now I'm obviously in favor of option two, and would have that shit up and running fast, I already have a ton of black logged stamp reviews ready to go. However since this blog runs on user reviews, obviously it's not going to work unless everyone's on board. So sound off in the comments, email me at firstname.lastname@example.org, and let me know what you think. Once I feel like I have a pretty good handle on what the popular vote is (provably in the next week or two) I will let you guys know.
I await your verdict.
